Programs for Senior & Retirement Communities

Music, Ministry and Fellowship

Gospel and Christian music from the heart that touches the heart... and soul!

Highly Engaging, Fun and Familiar One-Hour Specials

I have a special place in my heart for Seniors.

A couple of years ago I was down south playing a gig, and realized there were a lot of older people in the audience, singing along, clapping, some dancing and having a great time. On a break, I was talking with some of them, and found out that some of these "older people" were younger than I was!

They were asking if I ever did programs designed for senior and retirement communities. Did I play in any local senior centers or facilities regularly?

I've played in several of them over the years, especially for special events and holiday programs. I never turn them down if I'm in the area and available. But, no, I had never thought of it as something to do intentionally... until that conversation and a good long look in the mirror, where I saw a senior guy looking back at me!

So, after some more conversations at other gigs, I put together several engaging, resident-friendly live music programs. These all feature familiar songs, humorous road stories (and there's no shortage of these!), comfortable volume levels, and a relaxed, welcoming presentation.

I have several one-hour live music programs designed specifically for senior and retirement communities. Pretty much the idea is an entertaining, joyful, relaxed experience where audiences feel comfortable, engaged, and uplifted.

My 60-minute program frameworks are built for senior and retirement communities of racially mixed audiences, with pacing that honors attention, memory, and positive emotions. Most of these come from road-tested songs and stories that have proven themselves with audiences across the country for years.

Popular Program Themes

I have several themed programs that are easy to promote and that audiences look forward to.

Golden Oldies & Good Memories
Familiar favorites from the 50s through the 70s that spark smiles, memories, and gentle sing-alongs. This show is a broad sweep through popular songs covering artists such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Solomon Burke, Otis Redding and more.

Blues, Rock & Roll, Soul and Feel-Good Favorites
A relaxed mix of blues (think Ray Charles, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, etc.) and early rock classics (Carl Perkins, The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Creedence, Elvis, Sam Cooke, etc.) with toe-tapping rhythms and familiar choruses.

Sing-Along Social Hours
People like singing along and participating with well-known songs that they already know the words to. They enjoy singing together songs from their early years. "My Girl," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," "Wooly Bully," "Twist and Shout," and more.

Back When Music Was Music
A variety of timeless songs blending country, early rock, blues, gospel and ballads. This includes many of the artists above as well as some lesser-known artists that have that certain vibe and feel.

Honky-Tonk Hearts & Down-Home Songs
Classic country and honky-tonk favorites from the late 1940s through the early 1960s. Mostly upbeat and heartfelt country songs with a two-step feel, along with some of the ballads. Moon Mullican, Webb Pierce, Patsy Cline and other well-loved artists.

Blues, Spirituals & Sacred Fire
A deeply human blend of traditional blues, spirituals, and gospel-rooted songs.

Songs of Faith, Hope & Gospel
Beloved gospel and spiritual favorites shared with warmth and respect.

Seasonal & Holiday Favorites
Customized music programs for holidays, Christmas and special occasions.
